IT’S A LIFESTYLE CHANGE!!!!!!!! *rage*
Can I just.
I’m not ‘on a diet’. I don’t think I’m fat, I don’t think I’m ugly, and I do not have an eating disorder. I’m thankful that I have people in my life to worry about things like that, so if I ever DO find myself in a negative state of mind, I know they’ll be there for me, but FUCK MAN.
Just because I watch what I eat/eat clean now doesn’t mean I’m crazy.
And it DOES NOT make me unhealthy!
Going to Wendy’s and ordering a salad is not UNHEALTHY.
Switching to mostly lean meats (fish, chicken, etc) is not UNHEALTHY.
Shedding the carbs and incorporating more vegetables and whole grains is not UNHEALTHY.
What I eat is COMPLETELY healthy for me! I eat to FUEL, not to EAT. And I wish the people around me would learn the difference between FOOD and FUEL. FOOD is a splurge for me. FUEL is the things your body NEEDS and CRAVES. I mean, craves in the right way!
When I get the munchies, I’ll go eat fruit, frozen yogurt tubes, veggies, berries. Things that I put into my body that make me feel GOOD on the INSIDE and not just mentally. Something more than whatever happens when you eat cake or cookies.
Don’t get me wrong, I still actually LOVE eating that kind of thing. Just not as often as I used to. Because I don’t eat to eat, I eat to FUEL. And my body does not need that kind of food in it to keep it going. But it DOES need fresh things, clean foods, low sodium, low fat, low carb things inside of it to make me feel good. My appearance, yes, it has changed because of what I eat and how i exercise now. But I wish I could fully express how great I feel INSIDE. Mentally, I’m so happy all the time! It’s great! My skin is better, I have more energy, and when i eat right, I have higher self esteem. Why would you not want to do that for yourself?
Furthermore, why DA FUQ would you PICK ON SOMEONE who is doing that for themself? Everywhere i go, I get mocked for what I eat, how often I work out, or I get judged because people think i’m being extreme or it’s getting ‘out of hand’…
Just because i don’t reach for the foods that make me feel shitty, just because I want to be fit and healthy, just because I have to work hard to get the results I want, it does not mean you get to make assumptions based off of your current level of activity or eating habits. Everyone has something that works for them. I have mine. And if anybody bothered to take a serious look into my food journals and fitness logs, they’d see that I’m actually not a damaged, over achieving, messed up individual. I’m actually quite healthy and I’m feeling better than I have in years.
So go ‘head and eat that damn burger with bacon. If that’s what you want, I’m not going to try and force my opinion on you. When someone makes a joke like “Here’s your salad- low carb, low salt, low everything” I don’t retaliate with “You look like you could use a salad yourself” or “That high blood pressure of yours is a direct result of the salt you intake every day”.
Just because what I’m doing is not what you’re doing doesn’t mean I’m doing it wrong. And I wish people would step off.
It’s not a flipping diet.
It’s a lifestyle change.
